How do i backup my google chrome bookmarks

You have tons of great bookmarks and wondering where your Chrome bookmarks are stored? If you want to make a copy of your bookmarks we recommend you export them as an HTML file which can then easily be imported into other browsers or back into Chrome if need be.

You can do this by following these instructions:
  1. Click the Chrome menu toolbar on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Bookmarks.
  3. Select Bookmark manager.
  4. Click the Organize menu in the manager.
  5. Select Export bookmarks. Chrome will export the bookmarks as an HTML file. This is where “Import Bookmarks” is as well.

Tip: You can use a simple text editor program to open this file if you need to.

However, if you’re just wondering where they are on your Windows computer, they are located in ...ChromeUser DataDefaultBookmarks
(full extensions might look like C:Documents and Settings<USER NAME>Local SettingsApplication DataGoogleChromeUser DataDefaultBookmarks or C:UsersUSER NAMEAppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataDefault)
